34 THE FORWARDER | FALL 2024 2024 New CIFFA Professional Freight Forwarder Sanela Dzaferagic - PFF Member Sanela has been in the Logistics & Supply Chain Industry since 2003, beginning her career with Milne & Craighead. Sanela started in forwarding as a Logistics Coordinator tasked with completing documentation for clients, and then moved on to learn additional tasks and modes of transport including Air Freight, Truck (Domestic and International), Ocean Freight Forwarding and Project Management. She has worked with well recognized companies in the logistics field such as PBB, Livingston International, and Hellmann Worldwide prior to joining the Cole team in 2014. Sanela joined Cole International in September 2014 as a Logistics Coordinator. Shortly after she was promoted to Key Accounts Supervisor, Freight then on to Supervisor, Freight in 2018, Assistant Manager, Freight in 2019 and most recent to Manager, Freight in 2022. Sanela holds the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding delivered by The FIATA International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations. She is currently overseeing a staff of 11 individuals in Calgary, AB. Jodie Tuyet-Lien Phung- PFF Member Jodie Tuyet-Lien Phung is a Sales Manager in TNN Logistics - a small local logistics company in Vietnam. With a background in Banking and Finance, she has developed a strong passion in International Trade and Transportation, then continued to study more to expertise in Logistics and Freight Forwarding. Known for her go-getter attitude and proactivity at work, Jodie is dedicated to understanding customers’ concerns and providing clear, industry-specific advice. She has played a key role in expanding new trade lanes for the company (Vietnam - ASEAN and Vietnam - Europe), establishing a global network of agencies and fast-tracking the process of joining international associations like WCA or IATA. Jodie also continually enhances her expertise by learning new skills like data analytics. Outside of work, she is learning violin as an adult beginner, which sharpens her cognitive ability like memory and concentration, improves hand-eye coordination, and fosters discipline and patience. Denis Ioutis - PFF Member Denis is a seasoned logistics professional with over 20 years of experience. His journey began in logistics as a dispatcher, where he honed his shipment coordination and timeline management skills. Transitioning to OEC Group, he rose from an import coordinator to a dispatch team leader. Eventually, Denis was promoted to ocean import supervisor, and he’s currently leading a team of young professionals like himself, ensuring seamless operations and timely deliveries. Driven by a passion for excellence, Denis thrives in fast-paced environments, making informed decisions that drive success. His leadership style, rooted in trust and transparency, empowers his team to thrive. He excels in customer service, building strong relationships with truckers, rail providers, and steamship lines. His ability to foster collaboration and maintain open lines of communication is key to his success. Denis is excited to continue making an impact in the logistics industry as a Professional Freight Forwarder, leveraging his expertise to drive success and build lasting partnerships.
